Benefits of Steel Buildings

Steel buildings are becoming more popular due to easy assembly and durability. Steel is the building material of choice because it is strong, versatile, and affordable.

Appearance

Steel building systems are easily assimilated with wood, glass, or masonry facades, combining the inherent strength of steel with the more aesthetically pleasing exteriors of other materials. The availability of these more sophisticated facades has allowed steel structures to be used for fellowship halls, industrial design centers, warehousing, schools, furniture showrooms, offices and many other types of buildings.

Durability

Steel buildings are more durable than conventional building materials. They are also easier and more cost-effective to erect. Steel buildings feature precise, computer-generated, engineered components in all of the primary and secondary framing elements, wall components, and roof system. All pieces bolt together and are designed to meet local building code requirements. Steel buildings can also allow expansion at a later date without significant expense or interruption of daily use.

Time

Steel buildings, as a whole, take less time to construct. A steel building can be erected in half the time it would take other building types to be completed. Most of the work (pre-cutting, pre-welding) is done at the factory to reduce construction time and the impact of weather interruptions.

Cost

Steel buildings may also cost less to construct. Construction requires fewer on-site labor hours, and specialists used for conventional building processes are unnecessary. Cutting and fitting during the assembly process is eliminated because the steel was pre-formed at the factory. The steel walls can be fabricated and factory assembled in sections to further simplify the construction process.

Expansion/Finally, steel buildings are easier to expand than other building types. They can be modified quickly and economically at any point in the life of the building. Removing end or sidewalls, erecting new framework, and adding additional wall and roof panels are all uncomplicated procedures that can be accomplished in a short period of time with minimal cost.
